What it is
Wings browned in butter, then baked in a tomato, celery, soy and cider-vinegar sauce.
Serves 4 · prep 10 min · bake 30 min · oven 375°F.
16 chicken wings · 1 Tbsp butter or margarine · ½ cup canned chopped tomatoes with liquid · ½ cup finely chopped celery · ½ Tbsp soy sauce · ½ Tbsp cider vinegar · ½ tsp salt.
Brown the wings in melted butter, arrange in an oiled ovenproof dish, add the tomatoes with their liquid and the celery, then pour over the mixed soy, vinegar and salt. Bake 375°F about 30 min or until tender.
The card's own Tip: do not crowd the pan when browning. Its serving suggestion: herbed rice, broccoli with sesame seeds, applesauce cake. It also gives scaling: half for 2 servings, double for 8.
Notes
Filed to Printed\ on the folder test — commercially printed, no handwriting.
This is the third distinct subscription card series in the box, alongside Healthy Meals in Minutes (1994) and the Weight Watchers Winning Points cards (1999–2000). With this one at 1982, the printed material spans roughly two decades and the box was accumulating store-bought recipe cards the whole time.
It is also, at 1982, the oldest firmly-dated item found in the Recipes wing so far — the handwritten
cards are mostly undated and only snowballs (2009) carries a year.
Not transcribed verbatim in full, per the standing call on printed material.
