Ingredients

- 3 eggs
- 1 lb. box powdered sugar (less 2 T for topping)
- 8 oz. cream cheese
Method
Combine cake mix, butter, and one egg. Batter will be doughy. Press into greased 9 × 13 pan.
Combine sugar, cheese, and 2 eggs. Spead on top of dough. (spelled as written)
Bake 30–35 minutes at 350°.
Sprinkle top with powdered sugar right away. Cool 2 hrs. before cutting.

The "less 2 T for topping" aside is the card's one piece of real technique — the writer reserved two tablespoons of the pound of powdered sugar to dust the top, and wrote it into the ingredient line so it would not be forgotten. The instruction to sprinkle right away and then cool a full two hours before cutting is the difference between squares and a scoop.
