"Slim Man → End of the Rainbow" (written and circled at the top of the sheet — a person and, apparently, where the recipe came from)
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2¼ cup brown sugar
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 15 oz. can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand)
- 1 tsp vanilla
Method
Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in sugar & salt, add corn syrup. Mix well.
Add milk while stirring constantly.
Cook until 245°, stirring.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour into 9" square buttered pan.
(Cold wrap.)
Notes
Written in block capitals on a loose lined sheet — a different hand from the cursive recipe cards. "Cermel" as written at the top; corrected to Caramel for the title. 245°F is the firm-ball stage — this needs a candy thermometer, and the card assumes you know that. "Cold wrap" is written in parentheses at the bottom, presumably: cool, then cut and wrap the pieces.
