Cake: - 2 pkg. instant vanilla pudding - 3 1/2 cups milk - 1 (9 oz) Cool Whip - Graham crackers, whole
Frosting: - 2 Tbl. softened butter - 2 squares chocolate, melted - 3 tsp. vanilla - 3 Tbl. Karo corn syrup - 4 Tbl. milk - 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Method
Cake: 1. Beat pudding til firm. 2. Stir in Cool Whip. 3. Layer in a 13x9x2 pan (or approx.): whole graham crackers, then 1/2 of filling, crackers, filling, ending with crackers. 4. Card ends "(over)" — continue to the frosting on the back.
Frosting: 1. Mix softened butter with melted chocolate. 2. Add vanilla, Karo corn syrup, milk, and powdered sugar. 3. Mix well. 4. Spread frosting on cake and refrigerate.
Notes on the artifact
Handwritten on a printed "From the kitchen of..." fruit-illustration card template; the name line for the issuing cook is left blank. Two-sided: cake recipe on page 1, frosting recipe on page 2. No date or personal attribution is written anywhere on the card.
