Method

Oven version: 1. Melt butter; beat with sugars, vanilla, peanut butter, and eggs. 2. Combine flour, bran, oats, and baking soda separately. 3. Stir into the butter mixture. 4. Drop by teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. 5. Bake at 350°F for 15–18 minutes. 6. Cool on a rack.

Prep time 5–10 min. Baking time 15–18 min. Oven 350°F.

Microwave version ("How to Microwave"): Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl (about 45 seconds on HIGH, covered with wax paper); beat in sugars, vanilla, peanut butter, and eggs. Combine dry ingredients and stir in. Press half the dough into an 8x8" microwave-safe dish; shield corners with foil. Microwave on HIGH 4–5 minutes, turning a quarter turn 3 times. Cool before cutting into bars. Repeat with second batch.

Microwave setting HIGH 100%. Microwave cooking time 4–5 minutes.
