Ingredients

  • 1½ cups milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk

Method

Put chocolate chips and butter into the micro cooker and microwave on High for 1 minute.

Stir with 10 inch whisk, then microwave again for 1 minute.

Add evaporated milk and whisk with 10 inch whisk.

Microwave for 1 minute, whisk until smooth, then microwave again for 1 to 2 minutes until glossy and thick.

Set aside until needed. Sauce will thicken as it sits.

Serve warm over ice cream.

Yield: 2 cups.

Notes

Two-sided card, fully legible, with the yield written at the end — unusually complete for this box.

The equipment names date it and place it: "micro cooker" and "10 inch whisk" are Pampered Chef product names, not generic kitchen terms. This is almost certainly copied down at or from a Pampered Chef party — the recipe was the demonstration and the tools were what was being sold. Written out by hand, so it belongs in Cards\ rather than Printed\; the underlying recipe may nonetheless be the company's.

Milk chocolate chips rather than semi-sweet, and a 5 oz can of evaporated milk rather than the more common 12 oz, both make this sweeter and thicker than a standard hot fudge.
