Read this one with the card open. Something on it is illegible, missing or ambiguous. It is transcribed exactly as written — nothing has been guessed or filled in — and every uncertainty is marked below.

A no-bake peanut butter candy, rolled into balls and dipped in chocolate — a batch recipe sized for a holiday tin.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 3-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • dipping chocolate — ⚠ not stated on the card (amount unspecified)

Method

Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Roll into 3/4-inch balls and coat with dipping chocolate. Makes about 40 — ⚠ the word following "40" is cut off at the right edge of the page and not fully legible (possibly "centers" or "candies").

Notes on the artifact

Written on a pre-printed "Notes" memo sheet with a green/red checkerboard border and apple graphics along the bottom — a memo pad page repurposed to jot down the recipe, not a dedicated recipe card. No date or author name anywhere on the page.
